INSPIRED BY WORDS CONTEST! - updates

EDIT: A lot of people haven't been reading the requirements and I felt like I wasn't specific enough - so I made it a bit more well, specific.

I've always wanted to host a contest, so I finally got off my butt and whipped up a contest for you. This idea has been floating around my mind for a while, and finally it's put into action. Four fabulous artists have agreed to judge with me! (Thanks so much for your help! ) It's going to be pretty awesome - Drumroll, please!

This contest is a conceptual photography contest. The quote chosen to use was taken from the song Human by the Killers. (Click to hear it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvVOoC…)

"Are we human, or are we dancer?"

Now, we want YOU to create a photo based on your interpretation of that quote. But not everyone will have the same interpretation, so it'll make the contest interesting! In the end, it'll be a whole collection of diverse photographs bonded by the same seven words. Cool, huh? (For those who question my choice of quote : The vaguer and stranger the quote, the more open it is for interpretation! There is a method to my madness.)

Requirements and Rules

- Only conceptual photography will be accepted - Which means the photo is in the CONCEPTUAL category, not the EXPRESSIVE category in the portraits section! (For those who ask me what conceptual photography is - it is a photograph that conveys and idea or concept. . . . that's why it's named conceptual photography)

- This is a PHOTOGRAPHY contest, so no manipulations! Please refrain from photographs that will need a mature content warning. Nudity, horror, and macabre will not be accepted.

- Please write a short description (maybe a sentence or two) about your interpretation of the lyrics and put it in the artist's comment - so when it comes to judging we can all see it. We're looking for originality and creativity!

- The photograph MUST BE new! The point of the competition is to spur your imagination. (That means it must be submitted after March 19, 2009.)

- One entry per person - so choose your piece wisely!

- To submit, send auroille a note entitled "IBW Contest Entry" with a thumb of your deviation. It will be added to the collection of all the entries.

- IF YOU DON'T READ THESE RULES I WILL EAT YOU. A lot of people have been sending me art that cannot qualify because it doesn't follow the requirements.

There will be a first place, a second place, and third place. There will be a varying number of honorable mentions, depending on how many people enter and how many pieces we think deserve to be recognized.

So far the winners will receive features from all of the judges. We need you guys to help donate some prizes. Subs, features, anything! If you wish to donate features or subs please comment on this poll. She will have an updated list of prizes available!
